Home Improvement

This was a little while ago, I think 3-4 weeks ago. But I never posted pictures. This is our newly painted kitchen! I think it turned out really great. It is a mix of a clay/red color and a tan color. The floor desperately needs to be re-done, but that isn't exactly in the budget anytime soon! For now new paint will have to make do, we are hopefully going to replace all the handles on the cabinets soon though. We just have to make a decision, why do all home improvement projects have to cost SO much?!

These are before pictures, they are from the home inspection.

We are also are currently working on the upstairs bathroom (when I say 'we' I mean Alec of course). I simply requested just a fresh coat of paint on the walls. Some how that turned into a huge sanding the walls down in some places, putting new texture on, and repainting the entire vanity, and then after that is all done the walls will get painted. I love when we make improvements, although I hate the process of it though because when you re-do one room it means the rest of the house is totally trashed! Oh well.....it will all get put back together soon enough.

We are painting the vanity a chocolate brown, the wood was in rough shape so we are painting over it. The walls are going to be a similar color to what they already are, just a tan color, same as the two other bedrooms. We currently have a glass shower door, we like having a door opposed to a curtain, but this door is gold (ew) and is in really rough shape and leaks. So we are probably going to take that out and just do a curtain for the time being, then hopefully get a new shower door in the future.

I will be sure to follow with completed pictures!

This is what happens when we do projects...... looks like a bomb went off.

Pizza!

I was inspired by my good friend Catherine to make homemade pizza. She and her friend Jen have an awesome blog where they put up all different cooking ideas, so I decided to try one! Their blog is http://thethriftytable.blogspot.com/ <--- Check it out its so fun!

She suggested making homemade pizza, so I thought I would give it a try. We LOVE pizza and could probably eat it every night if given the opportunity. And it was perfect because we got to choose our own toppings and make it the way we wanted, because of course we can never agree on which kind of pizza to get. I am not very good in the kitchen so I am trying to get better and try new things.

This was super fun though!

Spring is maybe on the way?

Spring has kind of begun to make an appearance! I have been totally swamped with school these past couple weeks, and then on top of that I was sick for almost 2 weeks with a terrible cold. I am finally on spring break this week, thank goodness. I have tests the week we get back, so it isn't a total break but good enough I guess.
This is the 'pond' behind our house. Apparently this is what happens when snow melts, this also happens with a ton of rain. Thought about just putting some chlorine in it and calling it a pool.

We went to Grant, MI this past weekend to celebrate the four DeLange birthdays there are in March. Alec's birthday was on Sunday, he reports that he had a very happy birthday! We had a good time with the family though, especially since we won't be back until the semester is over.

We went to the nature center in Grant Sunday afternoon to walk around. Anne and Rob brought their two huge chocolate labs (who we all call the chocolate babies). It was so fun to walk around with all the nieces and nephews and enjoy the Sunday afternoon.
