Well I decided that I would give this a try after all. I created this account when we moved to Wisconsin (6 months ago already!) but never ended up posting. So I figure with all the changes that seem to be happening with us I would give it a shot. I know how much I like knowing about other people's lives, so here is your glimpse into our life!
Here is a recap of our lives real quick since July:
- Got married July 12
- Went to Mexico for our honeymoon (Puerto Vallarta)
- Alec's first day back to work after the honeymoon his boss mentioned to him about a new job within the company in the Brookfield, WI office.
- About a month later we came to WI to visit to see the area, what we thought of it.
- He was formally offered the position and accepted it!
- We moved to Greenfield, WI which is a suburb of Milwaukee.
NEVER thought we would be leaving west MI, but here we are and are enjoying it!
Here are a few pictures of our apartment.
There are now 2 more big changes we about to take on!
1. We bought a house, or are in the processes of buying I guess you would say. Everything is all set and we are just waiting patiently for our closing day (April 30)! Then we plan to move into the house that following weekend. We are very excited and can't wait to get in there and make it our own! I will post more pictures later on!
This is a picture of our house, from the real estate listing.
2. The second major change that will be happening in our lives is that I have decided to go back to school. I am planning on going back for my bachelor's in nursing. I have been accepted into Mount Mary College, which is a local college in the area. Great location, right near our new house. I am starting in the fall, with one semester of pre-nursing classes (16 credits). I will then apply to the nursing program, and hopefully start that in the spring. So all in all it will be 5 semesters total. The plan is to be graduating December 2011. I am very excited, but more so nervous.
That is all for now, I am not sure about this all yet :) I am a very dedicated facebook fan, so we'll see if I can do this!

Yea for you guys starting a blog :) Can't wait to see more pics of your new house!!
Oh my stars, you guys, maybe you'd be a good person to run my facebook page that I continue to boycott having. Then I wouldn't have to do it! Laurel, you're adorable. What a good idea - a blog. We miss you, but we're so excited for you with all your ventures. Laurel, you're going to love having your OWN place to decorate and take care of. And Alec, you can just go nuts on the yard whenever you get a man-urge to prune and mow. Sweet.
WOW! I can't believe you're buying a house. It looks so cute (my words, not Megan's).
Like I told Bill, the next step after buying a house is babies, so get going on that. I've got $5 on Bill and Mimi, prove me wrong!
Good luck with nursing and be sure to post more photos of the house once you move in.
PS: I'm glad not to be the only dork with a blog.
