Home Improvement

This was a little while ago, I think 3-4 weeks ago. But I never posted pictures. This is our newly painted kitchen! I think it turned out really great. It is a mix of a clay/red color and a tan color. The floor desperately needs to be re-done, but that isn't exactly in the budget anytime soon! For now new paint will have to make do, we are hopefully going to replace all the handles on the cabinets soon though. We just have to make a decision, why do all home improvement projects have to cost SO much?!

These are before pictures, they are from the home inspection.

We are also are currently working on the upstairs bathroom (when I say 'we' I mean Alec of course). I simply requested just a fresh coat of paint on the walls. Some how that turned into a huge sanding the walls down in some places, putting new texture on, and repainting the entire vanity, and then after that is all done the walls will get painted. I love when we make improvements, although I hate the process of it though because when you re-do one room it means the rest of the house is totally trashed! Oh well.....it will all get put back together soon enough.

We are painting the vanity a chocolate brown, the wood was in rough shape so we are painting over it. The walls are going to be a similar color to what they already are, just a tan color, same as the two other bedrooms. We currently have a glass shower door, we like having a door opposed to a curtain, but this door is gold (ew) and is in really rough shape and leaks. So we are probably going to take that out and just do a curtain for the time being, then hopefully get a new shower door in the future.

I will be sure to follow with completed pictures!

This is what happens when we do projects...... looks like a bomb went off.

I love the idea to paint the cabinet a dark brown! That might be copied at some point in the future! :)

Just be careful....it turned out darker than we expected. Hopefully it still all comes together ok in the end.
