6 Months Old

Baby Brie is 6 months old already!!!  Half a year, how in the world did that happen already.  Its been a great half year thus far, its amazing how each month is so different than the last.

We just had her 6mon appointment today (4/9).
        Weight: 15lbs 4oz (30th percentile)
        Height: 26 3/4in (90th percentile)

Doctor said she is doing great!  He wants to keep an eye on her weight, she has been steadily decreasing on the growth curve for weight.  Normally not really an issue but since she has a ventricular septal defect, it is something to keep our eye on.  He mentioned possibly supplementing, which I have NO interest in doing.  So we'll see.  The problem is this is the last time we are seeing this pediatrician  since for her next visit (9 months) we will be living in Michigan.  I'm not too concerned, I think it will be fine.  She is meeting all her milestones with no issues, so we will just keep our eye on it!  She is running a bit of a temp today, poor baby, so no shots this week.  We will have to go back next week to get shots.

She is rolling all over the place, she will all the sudden be on the other side of the room.  I've tried putting toys places to get her to purposely roll towards the direction of something she wants, but she just rolls wherever her little body takes her.  She is starting to be able to sit up, topples over though after a little while.  When she gets mad she does this snorting thing with her nose, she huffs and puffs!

Solid food has been going much better, she is more tolerant of different foods and seems to be enjoying it!  She still nurses about 5x/day, and then we do solid food one time around dinner time.  She loves the bath, I am looking forward to her sitting up better so she can just sit in the tub.

She goes to bed around 7:15/7:30pm and for the last couple weeks has been consistently sleeping through the night, waking up around 7am.  It is GREAT!  She still naps 3x/day, I tried to get her on a 2 nap schedule but that was painful.  So back to 3 naps, they range from about 45min-90min.

She is grabbing at ANYTHING that is in front of her!  No more holding her while we eat dinner, she has grabbed huge handfuls of food off our plates.

She loves Josie, she watches her all the time and when she is near by she reaches out for her.  Josie on the other hand.....not a huge fan of Briana.  She is LESS than thrilled when we make her sit still and let Brie grab her fur.  It was so hard taking her pictures this time, she had NO interest in looking at the camera.  I finally had to lock Josie outside so Brie would stop watching her during our little photo session!

(I sternly told Josie to sit so I could take a picture, that lasted for 2sec and Brie reached out for her and Josie was out of there!)

Looking at Josie......

Still not so good at sitting up, she toppled over a few times during the pictures.

Brie loves sucking her thumb (only on her left one), she mostly sticks it in when she is tired or upset. As a former thumb sucker I really didn't want her to suck her thumb, but oh well....it sure is cute :)

She loves to play with her feet, she rarely has bare feet and loves to suck on her toes when she does!  She sure is fascinated with her feet.

And then we reached our max.....all done.
